I
started doing stand up in the early 90's pretty much on a dare from
friends because they thought I was funny! So I got on the "the list"
for a Monday night to do a 5 minute spot at the Funny Bone Comedy Club
in Pittsburgh, PA. I kept at it and eventually got pretty good at it
(I... (and I'm thinking most comics when the first start)...really
suck for a long time til I got a laugh). Anyhow...I was working a day
job and doing my local club periodically as an MC and doing one
nighters here and there when they were offered. I hated my day job
cause CORPORATE AMERICA SUCKS so after a few day jobs I got an offer
to travel the country doing the college circuit. After a lot of
thought (about 3 1/2 minutes) I dumped the day job and went to
stand-up full time.
After a
few years on the college circuit I up and moved to New York City.
Since doing that I have done work on Jim Florentine's "Terrorizing
Telemarketers" Cd's Volumes, 2, 3 and 4 as Grandpa and the
Brother-n-law. I also worked on the hidden camera comedy DVD, "Meet
the Creeps." From the work I did on Jim's Cd, volume 2, where I play
his grandfather
and
he gives me a bath while talking to a telemarketer, Comedy Central
asked Jim to recreate the call for their upcoming show, "Crank Yankers."
Thanks to Jim, I got to do a call on the first season of the show. It
was pretty cool (alright it was great).
Ok, now
my act...my act is a HIGH ENERGY show that covers all sorts of
topics...the one main thing being, "Uncle Hort" and all kinds of
experiences that
I have encountered. I'm not gonna claim to be a must see act, but if
you come out to see me you will probably get tired from watching me.
You will definitely go home satisfied and wired without taking a single
drug! So if you haven't seen my show, come on out if I'm near you and
if you have seen it....come on out again!
